Interpretive trail la Tourbière de la Lande

Visit of a rare peat bog because it is Mediterranean. Passage on long gratings and pedagogical panels.

Sentier Prévert

4,5 km – EasyElevation difference : 272 m.
Classified as a Heritage Trail, it was created by the children of the local school who also designed the interpretation panels that line it.

Lacaune-les-Bains

Walking path « Sur les traces de l’Enfant Sauvage »

An adventure in the forest to play, learn and create while discovering the story of the Wild Child in a world of mysteries and memories.
Not suitable for pushchairs and not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Stroll not recommended in rainy weather.
Free visit: From Easter to All Saints’ Day. To make the walk more enjoyable, booklets (0,50€) and accessory packs (4€) are on sale at the Lacaune Tourist Information Office.
Price: free access
Guided and animated visit for children: In July and August, Tuesday to Thursday at 2pm (duration: 3 to 4 hours).
Meet at 1:50pm in front of the Lacaune Tourist Information.
Registration required (limited places).
Price: 4€ for children and free for adults.

Discovery trail The Montalet

1 km.
At an altitude of 1259  m., Montalet is home to a wealth of flora and fauna. At the top, at the foot of the Virgin, a landscaped reading table allows you to discover an exceptional panorama.
Site not accessible in snowy weather.

Walking and cycling path the Petit Train

Built on an old railway, along the Gijou valley, this path offers many unobstructed views and a site of special interest at the Gourp Fumant (series of tunnels and viaducts).

Interpretation path along the Gijou valley, a Natura 2000 clasified site. Panels will allow you to discover the environmental richness of this site.

Lamontélarié

La Sagne des Baysses

1 km.
Theme trail marked out on the hiking trail “La Montéliote“. Peat bogs and other wetlands are numerous in the Monts de Lacaune. In these constantly waterlogged soils, plants such as sphagnum mosses adapt and settle. Deprived of oxygen, bacteria and fungi can no longer decompose the organic matter that accumulates and forms peat.

Path marked with stone markers: cairns, stone capitelles and walls, structural elements of a landscape that was once largely pastoral, which today gives way to vast low moors tinted with mauve heather and bordered by fir forests.
